on our 1979 28' center bath excella motorhome the control panel is reading that the l p tank is full,, but the gauge on the tank read at 10%. any idea where the sending unit is located on the lp tank and how it works? thanks, cheryl. |

Not familier with your set up, but on my 1985 345 the sending unit is on the tank itself. It is part of the guage that you read on the tank. |

Mine too. There is a wire coming off the gauge. FWIW - my control panel has always shown "full" LP too. |

There was some discussion a while back about replacing the sending unit. Do you all know that the blank space in the black bar is a "Search" feature. give it a try. Just type a subject and "enter". |

Here is a shot of the old gage/sending unit and one that I replaced it with. Newer units used a different unit, and don't know when the changed. Our unit has a 100 lb tank. You can take the gage off with out draining the tank. DO NOT take out the four big bolts holding in the gage unit. Only 2 very small screws hold it in.
Sorry, I have not down loaded the pic of the new gage/sending unit, but it has 2 lines coming out of it for ground and to the panel.

thanks again, that is a great help. ours has been replaced, but it looks like they replaced it with one without a sending unit so the information on getting a replacement is very helpful. blessings, cheryl |
