our converter is powered directly (fused) from the chassis battery.

it does a good job of keeping the coach batteries charged and boiling them, but it does run the chassis battery down.

couldn't i make a fused jumper and place between the hot of the coach and chassis and coach batteries and eleminate this problem?

what do have???, the chassis wiring should be isolated from the coach wiring, i suggest installing a charging isolator from the alternator to the different systems, then when driving both systems will receive charge and the chassis will not be run down from the coach system when parked.
