Hello to "This Old RV"! We are T-Bar Farms. This seems like a good place for us. We are the happy owners of a 1986 American by Cobra Chevey Motor Home. They surely do not make those any more. The word is that it was first in Ohio then owned by a Texas Rodeo man, then a motorcycle couple and now we dog show folks. we call her Fanny Doggy Xpress.
Our Havanese Jazz just knows that it is all for him.
Check out my profile and blog, see TBar Farms on this web site.

Welcome aboard.  That's what this forum is all about.  Old RV's and how we use and maintain them.  Business is a little slow this time of year.  Guess everyones got better things to do.

It gets busy in the Winter.  Well, gotta go myself.  Getting ready for a trip to Duluth this next week.

Hi. My name is Chris McGhee. I don't really know if my RV classifies as an "old RV", but I enjoy your site. I have recently purchased a 1993 Damon Challenger. It needs alot of work but I enjoy that kind of stuff. I don't seem to have much in common with the newer 200K RV owners. I bought mine for 6K. It wouldn't be any fun if I didn't need to work on it. My wife and I are planning a trip to Colorado this summer with our two daughters. I'm hoping the RV will add alot to the trip.

    Hey Classic Motorhomers!!!
Have you got room for one more? My wife and I just bought a 1984 Airstream 310 Limited to Restore. Boy does it need some restoring. We sold our 40' Diesel Pusher and decided to downsize. The pusher had 2 slide-outs, so we feel a little cramped right now but we'll get used to that. I have already pulled the inop furnace and refrigerator out of the unit, so the refurb has begun. Since 1969 we have owned 12 or 13 RVs, so this ain't our first Rodeo. Looking forward to taking pics and sharing about the refurb.

Hi. I accidently won a 1976 Class A Diplomat II on dodge chassis and drivetrain on ebay hahaha. Site unseen (excepts pictures) me and a friend flew to California, jumped in it and drove it back to St Louis. It ran like a top the whole way. Handled like crap. 15 year old tires, bad shocks, unaware of airbags, and complete lack of knowledge about rv's made driving through rainstorms in Cali, snowstorms in Flagstaff mountains, and wind gusts in OK flatlands were very very unnerving. But she made the 1800 mile trip with no breakdowns. So Ive decided to keep her and fix her up a little.

After a lot of time and good friends that are smarter than I, she is in great shape. Very well kept Souther California MH. All appliances worked well, all original manuals were there.

    Replaced...
    Tires
    Shocks
    Fuel filter
    Plugs
5 water leaks in plumbing (good friend is a plumber!)
    Tightened all propane fittings
Pulled all carpet and hosed down and dried
Oil, filter, plug, air filter on gen (runs like new)
To me its like brand new for under $5k total investment

This looks like my kind of site but not really active. so if any questions my email is marty0861@hotmail.com
