I have asked on the other forum with no joy. Does anyone know where the brake light switch is located on a 1986 345? The only switch on the brake peddal is the Cruise disconnect. There must be a pressure switch somewhere. Thanks, Rob |

I have looked high and low and can't find the switch either. I have also checked all my manuals and schematics as well. The closest thing I can surmise is that the same switch that works the cruise control also does the brake light. Sorry. Its a mystery. |

The reason I am looking for the switch is the difference in peddal travel between cruise disconnect and brake lights on. The cruise disconnects at just a little travel, but I have to use more travel than I would like to get the brake lights to come on. Sometimes I do not need that much brake, but I know the lights are not on yet. I will have to dig deeper. Rob |

Okay, I can't get to my Master Cylander without removing a lot of shrouding, but check and see if there is a pressure switch on it or near it. I suspect that is probably what does the work. |

Strteamers, The mystery is solved. The switch IS the one above the cruise switch. I had tried to test mine at the beginning of this and it acted like it did nothing. The problem was that it had failed internally. I don't know how my brake lights were working. I now have a new "Made in America" switch installed, and the lights work great. |
